Successful participation in the ZVO Surface Days 2022
Part 2: Lectures from the WOT Chair
With 515 participants, almost 90 specialist lectures, stands from 65 exhibitors and overwhelmingly positive feedback, the ZVO Annual Congress more than fulfilled expectations. As the largest event for electroplating and surface technology in Germany, the congress took place again – as usual and proven in presence – at the Congress Center Leipzig.
6 Successful contributions
The Chair of Materials and Surface Engineering (WOT) was once again actively involved in the Surface Days. In the session „Results from Research: Young Colleagues Report“ Axel Dittes presented and discussed the latest findings on the direct electroplating of additively processed, electrically conductive polypropylene. Furthermore, Stephan Schwöbel presented the potentials and challenges of mathematical modelling in electroplating to an interested audience. Lars Lehmann presented the current research results on REACH-compliant electroplated gold(I) deposits to the expert audience. In the session on „Chromium(VI): Where do we go from here?“ Dominik Höhlich spoke about electrodeposited Fe-Cr-Ni alloys and later about functionalised carbon fibres with magnetic Fe-Co alloy layers in the session on functional layers. The series was completed by Roy Morgenstern, who was able to demonstrate new strategies for local anodic oxidation in the session on wear protection.
The professorship's contributions met with a wide range of interest directly on site and were discussed intensively. In the subsequent discussion with the company representatives present, it was possible to identify areas of overlap and evaluate possibilities for cooperation.
