Commissioning of a new laser build-up welding system for processing metallic glasses
The WOT professorship puts a new laser build-up welding system into operation. The focus is on the processing of functional iron-based metallic glasses. The system from Lunovu GmbH, Herzogenrath, completes the thermal coating process variants available at the professorship using the existing infrastructure. „This will significantly strengthen the research focus on 'lightweight construction through steel' using high-performance materials and their use for surface functionalisation“, says Prof. Lampke.
