Objectives / Contents
Knowledge about the design and evaluation of process chains for components that can be produced by sheet metal and solid forming processes is imparted. In addition to the forming processes, upstream and downstream processes such as component heating, trimming and inductive joining are also considered. Depending on the number of parts to be produced and the variety of variants, conventional and alternative process paths will be developed, knowledge of the special features of the forming tools will be conveyed, the influence of individual process parameters such as temperature and speed will be proven and the kinematics of the forming machine will be dealt with.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, the students are able:
-
Development of process chains for sheet metal and solid components depending on the production quantity,
-
To point out special features of the process chain design of cold and hot forming process chains,
-
Presentation of process chain variants and evaluation of these under the aspect of resource efficiency as well as flexibility,
-
Derivation of requirements for the forming tools due to the stresses caused by the forming processes,
-
Description of measures to achieve process safety.
