At the earliest possible date the department of mechanical engineering, professorship of Print Media Technology, offers a position as a Technical Assistant (100 %, pay category 9 TV-L) limited, at the time being, to 30.04.2020 with the possibility of continued employment. The selection is made accordingl to suitability, qualification and professional performance. The Chemnitz University of Technology is endeavored to especially promote women, so qualified women are explicitly encouraged to apply for the job. Research Assistant (100 %, Tariff part 13 TV-L) 2017-06-16
At the earliest possible date the department of mechanical engineering, professorship of Print Media Technology, offers a position as a Research Assistant (100 %, pay category 13 TV-L) limited, at the time being, to 36 months with the possibility of continued employment. The selection is made accordingl to suitability, qualification and professional performance. The Chemnitz University of Technology is endeavored to especially promote women, so qualified women are explicitly encouraged to apply for the job. The limited employment takes place according to the respective conditions of the „Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz“ (WissZeitVG) and the Saxon „Hochschulfreiheitsgesetz“ (SächsHSFG). Our fields of work are diverse and your tasks would be in the following areas: • Design and optimization of printed, flexible large-area actuators and sensors, especially loudspeakers • Electrical and morphological characterization of printed piezoelectrical layers • Development of a polarization unit for Inline-polarisation of piezoelectrical layers in printing machines • Supervision and evaluation of printing tests with different electrical functional materials • Implementation and coordination of research works within the framework of the VIP+ research project T-Paper, as well as documentation and publication of research results If you are interested in working in an interdisciplinary, highly motivated team and if you want to be confronted with themes of great practical relevance, you should have the following requirements: • Scientific university degree in the field of physics or electrical engineering with focus on solid state physics, electro-acoustics, physical acoustics or comparable disciplines that qualify for an admission to senior service • PhD in this fields would be desirable • Physical/ chemical knowledge for ferroelectrical and piezoelectrical systems on the basis of polymers and co-polymers, e.g. PVDF and P(VDF-TrFE) • Practical experience in the production of piezoelectrical films and their polarization • Knowledge in the chemical/ physical charakterization of layers and layer stacks for (piezo-)electrical components would be desirable • Knowledge in the design of loudspeakers and experience with the simulation software like COMSOL are also of advantage • Capacity for team work, especially experience in the interdisciplinary cooperation with engineering scientists • Independent and autonomous way of working • Very good technical English skills The applicants need to meet the requirements for employment according to § 71 SächsHSFG.
