International Group of Specialist Teachers Visits the pmTUC
On 6 July 2006, eight teachers from seven countries visited the pmTUC where they toured the facilities and listened to talks as part of an extended vocational training programme organised by Printpromotion, the Corporation for the Promotion of the Printing and Paper Converting Industry in developing countries. At the pmTUC the group of teachers from schools and institutes in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Russia, the Ukraine and Argentina enjoyed a versatile information programme. They listened to presentations about the Chemnitz University of Technology and study programmes at the Institute for Print and Media Technology. In addition, Gert Schlegel, Lutz Engisch, Georg Schmidt und Martin Flaspšhler informed the international teachers about the four fields of research at the pmTUC. After the talks, the visitors had the chance to get to know our facilities. The major part of the eight-week training course for the specialist teachers took place at the Ausbildungszentrum Polygrafie e.V. - AZP (Training Centre for Graphic Arts) in Chemnitz. Every year, the AZP offers seminars for specialists, managers, teachers and trainers from all over the world. The programme is aimed at making the participants familiar with innovative technologies in prepress, printing and postpress.
