Girls' Day at pmTUC
On 27th April 2006 the Institute for Print and Media Technology once again particticpated in organising an open day for girls - the Girls' Day. The Girls' Day "Future Prospects for Girls" is a campaign designed to give young women a taste of exciting occupational fields that are "atypical" for women. At Chemnitz University of Technology, girls could discover the world of technical occupations, e.g. in the fields information technology, industrial engineering and mathematics, through a number of lectures and guided tours. At the pmTUC, the event was organised by Dr. Uta Fügmann and Julia Wanke. Dr. Uta Fügmann spoke about her job as constructing engineer and Julia Wanke informed the young women about technical and technology-related study programmes at the institute.
