Abstract: | The objective of the MERGE project is the combination of manufacturing methods in the mass-production of weight-optimised multifunctional structures. By this approach energy and raw materials as well as cost and time can be conserved. The Chemnitz Cluster MERGE pursues the strategy of bivalent resource efficiency (BRE strategy) by the combination of different groups of materials, which currently need discrete working mechanisms. The professorship of Digital Printing and Imaging Technology is especially located in the “D-Unit” which has the research direction of Micro- and Nanotechnologies for microelectronics, integrated MEMS and smart system integration. Printed electronics should contribute to the realization of sensors, actuators and electronics as well to the improvement of the performance and functional density of hybrid components. |
