NEW GUIDELINE FOR WRITING WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS PUBLISHED [23/04/2025]
Dear students,
the Professorship for General and Biopsychology is providing all students with a new guideline to assist in the preparation of written assignments. This guideline is particularly relevant for anyone planning a thesis at our professorship.
A special focus is on the new section regarding the use of generative AI tools. Here you will find important information on dealing with Artificial Intelligence, which is becoming increasingly important in academic work. The goal is to offer you more guidance and clarity in dealing with these dynamic technologies.
We sincerely thank the team of the Professorship for Work, Organizational and Economic Psychology for the careful preparation of the document. With the guideline, we would like to contribute to making the topic of Artificial Intelligence more understandable and accessible during your studies.

RESEARCHING ART: COOPERATION WITH THE KUNSTSAMMLUNGEN CHEMNITZ FOR THE EDVARD MUNCH EXHIBITION 2025 [27/02/2025]
As part of the exhibition "Edvard Munch: Anxiety" (August 10 to November 2, 2025) at the Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz as well as on the occasion of the European Capital of Culture year 2025, our professorship is starting an exciting research cooperation:
- Scientific monitoring of the "Pavilion of Anxiety": We will conduct visitor surveys in the mobile meeting space in the Chemnitz urban area.
- Innovative visitor research: Using a real-time tracking system, we analyze the movement behavior of exhibition visitors.
This interdisciplinary collaboration promises new insights into the psychological aspects of art reception and underlines the active role of TU Chemnitz in the Capital of Culture year 2025.

ESF PLUS PROJECT "ALTERNATIVE LEARNING OFFERS": A SUCCESSFUL EXCHANGE AT THE PROJECT START [06/02/2025]
On February 4, 2025, the kick-off event of the Saxon project for testing alternative learning offers took place as an online event. Organized by the Institute for Productive Learning in Europe (IPLE), the meeting brought together numerous project actors: the providers of alternative learning offers, representatives of the State Office for School and Education (LaSuB), school administrations, the Saxon Development Bank (SAB), the Saxon State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs (SMK), the team of TU Chemnitz, as well as other interested parties.
Following a welcoming address by State Secretary Kühner from the Saxon State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, the coordinating body of the project, the IPLE, introduced itself and explained its tasks as well as the support offers for the implementation of alternative learning offers.
The focus of the event was the intensive exchange between the participants. In four regional groups, they exchanged information about their projects, discussed initial ideas, and debated key challenges. This open dialogue enabled the participants to gain valuable insights and at the same time make new contacts. The professorship team then introduced itself and presented the scientific monitoring of the project as well as the roadmap for the next steps.
We eagerly look forward to the upcoming project phases and are confident that the close cooperation of all parties involved will make a lasting contribution to educational development.

MOVEMENT BEHAVIOR OF PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN EXAMINED [24/06/2024]
At the Professorship of General and Biopsychology at TU Chemnitz, we investigated the movement behavior of three classes of the BIP-Kreativitätsgrundschule in Chemnitz over three weeks. Using a real-time recording system, for which we installed over 160 meters of cables and measuring equipment in the school and after-school care rooms, we were able to collect detailed movement data.
The children showed great interest in our scientific survey and were excited about the results. We are particularly pleased about the cooperation with the BIP-Kreativitätsgrundschule, which attaches special importance to movement and creativity. We are currently intensively busy evaluating the collected data and are already planning further surveys to deepen our findings and better understand the movement behavior of children.
