  2. Analysis and implementation of MPLS/DiffServ interworking within Linux (the Quagga routing suite)
  3. Comparison of Carrier Ethernet and IP/MPLS transport services for IP-based UMTS traffic with bearer service class support.
  4. Implementation of Inter-AS QoS signalling into the Linux Quagga routing suite. (BGP QoS Attribute / BGP-QoS)
  5. Design and implementation of the BGP/MPLS interworking functions within the Linux Quagga routing suite.
  6. Simulation study of QoS-based routing in IP/MPLS data networks.
  7. Comparison of QoS signalling mechanisms (e.g. NSIS, RSVP, SS7 coupling)

Personal experience and knowledge as well as your current interests are always take into account for the defintion of individual thesis or work topics.
The following areas are currently focussed on:
  • Linux routing kernel programming
  • Test and design of practical tasks for our networking lab
  • Simulation of data link and network layer protocols
The actual tasks are worked out best through a direct conversation.
Please get in contact soon, if you fancy one of the listed thesis areas.

Student jobs at the Chair of Communication Networks

Dear students,

a number of projects are running at the Chair of Communication Networks, which provide excellent chances to apply or to broaden your knowledge about Linux and the web.

We are currently looking for students who are either interested in complex Linux network configurations or in HTML/PHP/SQL programming.

If this sounds great to you, do not hesitate to contact me via email or in person.
