Dr. Evgeny Kataev was born in Kaluga (Russia, 1980). He studied Chemistry at the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and graduated in 2003. During his studies he was a visiting researcher in the group of Prof. Aaron L. Odom► at Michigan State University. He completed his PhD degree in 2006, a joint program between University of Texas at Austin, and MSU under supervision of Prof. Jonathan L. Sessler► and Yuri A. Ustynyuk. In 2006/2007 he was an INTAS postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Kay Severin► (EPFL, Lausanne). After working as a researcher in 2007/2008 at the A.N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds and MSU he joined the group of Prof. Burkhard König► at the University of Regensburg as a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow. In fall 2011 he started as assistant (junior) professor at the Chemnitz University of Technology. In fall 2017 he was promoted to associate (außerplanmäßiger) professor at TUC.
