Reflecting on this year’s fair
The 2025 Career Fair has come to an end – full of valuable encounters, motivated companies, and interesting insights into the professional world. At the same time, this year’s event gave us reason to reflect: on expectations, participation, and our shared responsibility to keep this platform vibrant.
Fewer exhibitors, yet meaningful conversations
We appreciate the positive feedback from participating companies who overall viewed the fair as a success. However, both the number of exhibitors and the attendance from students were lower than in previous years.
Some sessions, such as the hospital’s presentation, offered valuable content and opportunities for dialogue but attracted only a few visitors – a reminder that engagement is key to making such events thrive.
Current challenges: Economic situation and language diversity
Part of this development can be attributed to the current economic climate.
Many companies are acting more cautiously, reassessing their participation in career fairs, or limiting their outreach activities.
At the same time, our student body has become increasingly international – a great enrichment for our university community.
However, in practice, this also brings challenges, especially when employers are looking specifically for German-speaking graduates and language barriers make direct exchanges more difficult.
A fair thrives on participation
We understand that students may have different expectations – some wish for other fields to be represented, others for new formats or a wider range of companies. We take all this feedback seriously and will incorporate it into the planning of future events.
Still, we would like to remind everyone that the Career Fair is, above all, an opportunity – to connect with employers, ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain inspiration. Companies notice how engaged students are, and that engagement strongly influences their decision to return in the future.
Thank you – and looking ahead
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to this year’s fair: participating companies, students, colleagues, and the entire organising team.
For the future, we hope that even more students will seize this opportunity – by sharing ideas, feedback, and by showing up.
Only together can the Career Fair remain what it is meant to be: a place where opportunities are created.
Warm regards,
Your Career Service Team
On November, 12th 2025 from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm you had the chance to meet regional as well as national employers from various industries directly in the Central Lecture Hall Building (Zentrales Hörsaalgebäude (ZHSG).
On the day of the fair itself, we offered you a wide range of things to do. In addition to the regular fair activities, you had the chance to take part in a free application photo shoot with our photographer Mirko Mühlisch. We allocated places in advance - only with registration.
In addition, job walls informed you about the current job offers from our participating companies and institutions.

As always, participation and admission were completely free of charge. Reminder: To help establishing a positive relationship with a company, demonstrating your German skills is a great idea. We highly recommend a German level of minimum of B1 or better to anyone interested in joining the German job market.
