Transnational Career Service Conference
European Career Service Experts visited Chemnitz
2 days. 9 countries. 60 participants. From 20 to 22 March 2014, a large number of representatives from several European universities got together to pursue one goal: to strengthen the bonds between Career Services from all over Europe in order to provide students with even more opportunities for a cross-border career entry.
During the conference, the participants discussed different ways to promote the students’ employability skills and how to finance the services for students. They profited from several best-practice-models, e.g. for international cooperation and networking or recruitment services. Last but not least, the conference was used as a project incubator: It served as a platform to initiate future international projects.
Apart from taking part in productive workshops and attending informative lectures, the participants also sampled the culinary Chemnitz and discovered the city center. During the Get-together in the Turm-Brauhaus, the participants had the opportunity to try some hearty German food and beer, while the Michaelis served a finer cuisine for the conference dinner.
Especially well-received were the guided city walk through Chemnitz' city center as well as the official welcome speech by deputy mayor Petra Wesseler of the Urban Planning Department, who gave an enthusiastic insight into the city’s unique architectural history.
To conclude, we look back on two really exciting days which certainly exceeded our expectations, with a lot of new input and valuable contacts.
