InTUCgrate – a project of the Integra programme
The InTUCgrate project prepares refugees and international students for entry into the German job market by teaching following essential basics:
- Improvement of language skills through vocational language courses
- Use of language skills during “Language Lunch”
- Improvement of interdisciplinary skills through social engagement and volunteering by student initiatives and associations / clubs in Chemnitz
- Promoting integration and a sense of belonging
The project promotes the acquirement of important key competences by improving German language knowledge and starting voluntary work, that are particularly important for successful integration into the German job market. In addition, the local networking with civil society actors should promote the feeling of belonging and integration.
Thereby the project improves language skills and conversation skills through vocational language seminars. In addition, a regularly held "Language Lunch" creates an opportunity for the participants to use their German language skills with German and other international students through interaction in a pleasant atmosphere.
The content of InTUCgrate is linked to the "Welcome to TU Chemnitz" project of the TU Chemnitz International Office and is in close contact with it in order to offer the best possible support to refugee students.
InTUCgrate - a project of the Integra programme - is funded by the DAAD carried out with the funds of BMBF.
