Car

  • coming from Dresden or Erfurt leave the motorway (A4) at the interchange "Chemnitz" and join the (A72) (direction Hof); leave this motorway at the first exit "Chemnitz-Süd"
  • coming from Hof (A72) leave the motorway at the exit "Chemnitz-Süd"

  • Follow the traffic signs towards Chemnitz.
  • Leaving the motorway you are driving on "Neefestraße".
  • Follow this road for about 500m, then turn right at the first junction with traffic lights.
  • Follow this ring-road (passing five junctions with traffic lights) and leave at the exit "Reichenhainer Straße".
  • Turn left into town onto Reichenhainer Straße.
  • Following this road, you pass the football stadium (on the left hand side).
  • About 700m after the football stadium, you reach the campus. You will see the orange new lecture theatre immediately on the left hand side.
  • Right after that you´ll notice a huge glass-constructed building on the right hand side, the new cafeteria.
  • Immediately after passing this building turn right into a car-park.
  • You will find us in the third building right above of the parking-lot (see campus map).
 
 

Railway

Bus

  • Leave the railway station through the exit "Georgstraße".
  • Follow this road for about 10m and turn left onto Straße der Nationen at the next crossing.
  • There you will find the bus stop "Schillerplatz" (see "city map").
  • Take bus number 51 until the bus stop "Thueringer Weg" (journey time about 10 minutes).
  • Cross the road (Reichenhainer Straße) and walk the little street between the cafeteria and a building called "Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau" (Thuringer Weg 3). You will find us in the third building (Thuringer Weg 7) on the right hand side (see campus map).

Taxi

  • Leave the railway station through the main exit.
  • In front of this you will find a taxi rank.
  • If you do not find an available taxi, try to contact the taxi controll station at 0371/36 90 00.
  • Ask the driver for Thuringer Weg 7.
 
 

Airplane

If you want to reach Chemnitz by plane, you may choose between the three local airports Dresden, Leipzig/Halle and Altenburg-Nobitz (Ryanair). You may find the locations of these airports in the general map.

  • Coming from the square in front of the railway station, cross "Bahnhofstraße" and walk about 100m.
  • Turn onto "Carolastraße".
  • Turn right at the end of this street onto the "Straße der Nationen" which you have to cross. The Chemnitzer Hof is just a few metres away.
