Against the background of a significant reduction in the transformation of offers into orders and the increased demand of the quality of bid proposals of contract manufacturing companies, in collaboration with the Siebenwurst Werkzeugbau GmbH the Chair of Management Accounting and Control and the Chair of Engineering Design is designing an innovative process and software solution for a cross-phase calculation along the product development process. The target of this project is the design and implementation of a holistic approach to support product costing of sheet metal forming tools over the entire product development process. The main objectives are to create a practical calculation methodology for the bid proposal process (Module A) and to develop a cost calculation which can be synchronized with product development (Module B). From this modularization and its dismantling into functional blocks, which represent the program functions from user view, a tailored software solution results according to the costing requirements. It allows a resource-efficient, accurate and transparent product costing estimation. Therefore the Siebenwurst Werkzeugbau GmbH is in the position to perform an IT-supported, accurate, transparent and resource-efficient product cost estimation along the product developing process.
