TU Big Band performs on January 22, 2018 in the “End of Semester Concert” at Weltecho in Chemnitz

The TU Big Band of the Technical University of Chemnitz promises its fans an evening full of jazz ballads, swing standards and Latin classics on January 22, 2018 at Weltecho, Annaberger Straße 24. Set to begin at 8 p.m. under the direction of Marc Hartmann, the jazz musicians will delight guests with their enthusiastic performances of both traditional and modern pieces at the “End of Semester Concert”. Together, saxophone, trumpet, guitar, bass, percussion and piano will help keep the winter chill at bay for the evening.  Guests can also expect to get a taste of what the band has planned for its 2018 program. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Admission is 8 euros, reduced 5 euros.

The TU Big Band is comprised primarily of TU Chemnitz students, academic staff and alumni. They are joined by musicians from Chemnitz schools and businesses. They are all united by a common passion for making music together and performing jazz and swing arrangements. Jazz musician Marc Hartmann of Dresden has led the band since 2006.
