Amateurfunk Linux Treiber für das AATIS AS296/AS607 USB-Modem 9600/1200/4800 Baud für Packet Radio.

Der Treiber ermöglicht es über eine Pseudotty eine Verbindung zu kissattach herzustellen.
Dadurch ist das Modem dann mit dem Linux-AX25-Kernel verbunden.

This Modem is used to make Packet Radio over AX25

This driver connects a AS296/AS607 USB Modem to a tty (pseudo-tty)
from the other side of the pseudo-tty you can connect a kiss-driver
->kissattach
->XNet
->...?

The kissdriver needs to use the "rmnc-crc" protocol.
as296-tty is "Kernel independent" because it use the libusb.
The libusb is available for many systems: Linux, NetBSD, Freebsd, OpenBSD and MACOSX
The as296-tty driver should run on those Operating Systems with very little modifications
