Musical Databases

Research objectives of this project are algorithms and techniques in the field of Music Information Retrieval (MIR). Applying methods of comparing entire pieces of music, our aim is to create indexing procedures for repositories of music. These procedures should be robust against variations of music, e.g. improvisation or live performance.

While the methods we develop at present time are based on a symbolic presentation of music, we will later try to apply them to subsymbolic audio documents.
