Admission of international and German degree-seeking students will be based on their academic standing. The required educational background refers to a university level Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (final grade 2.4 =„good“ or better) according to the university grading system. Students with relevant study backgrounds, for instance, degrees in the field of humanities, cultural studies, communication studies, social sciences, linguistics, or a related field are welcome to apply for the programme.
The primary language of teaching is German. Therefore, a good command of German is required in order to ensure successful completion of the programme (DSH or equivalent). In addition, applicants must certify their proficiency in two foreign languages, including English at level C1 of the European Classification of Modern Languages (TOEFL +550, paper/+213, computer-based/+80, internet-based; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English: C; UniCert III; IELTS >6.5; other certificates may be accepted at the discretion of the department). A language certificate is required of all applicants, except for native English speakers. Finally, applicants should demonstrate that they already gained experiences from stays abroad.
