The Department mainly focuses on the following points:

  • Structural analysis, Analysis of strengths and weaknesses, image analysis
  • Development studies for planning the development of states, regions, cities and municipalities
  • Special planning concepts for the sectors of marketing and management of regions, cities and municipali ties as well as tourism and commerce (including economic support, renewal of municipalities etc)
  • Location research and planning (establishment of business, service and other institutions)
  • Social and economic geographical research work about questions of EU-Integration or about certain EU-Regions
