Microtechnology/Mechatronics (B.Sc.)

The technology sector is in a changing progress. Mechanical and electronic parts influence each other. The coherence of both sectors is shown by the increasingly miniaturization of systems.

This degree course focuses on a broad basic knowledge and specific proficiency in the area of Microtechnology and Mechatronics. It is an interdisciplinary program in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

requirements: usually general qualification for university entrance (Abitur)
standard period of study: 6 semesters
degree: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

Career Options

Graduates have excellent national and international career options in branches of business, such as

  • microsystems production and electronic production,
  • automotive manufacture and supplying industry,
  • print and media production in the information, communication and printing industries

Course Content

The degree course imparts knowledge in the following fields,

  • mathematics and natural sciences,
  • mechanical engineering,
  • electrical engineering, and
  • interdisciplinary non-technically skills (e.g. business administration, English language skills and professional jargon, law).

In the 3rd year, students will choose from one of the following occupational fields,
