Cam Mechanisms               
Plane and three-dimensional cam mechanisms make an implementation of any motion task possible. Because of their simple construction and mechanic features they were used in different application ranges. Especially special purpose machines with particular requirements for the motion cycle or the curve form necessitates approaches which are not solvable with common methods. The professorship applies itself to find solutions by appointing cam mechanisms in different projects.

  • Optimal modulation of motion functions by interpolation resp. approximation of polynomial functions, VDI- laws of motion and Spline-functions
  • Design of special forms of plane and three-dimensional cam- and cam step mechanisms

  • Parametrical modelling and multibody simulation of cam mechanisms and drive components

  • Determination of cutting lanes at groove curves with small cutting radius
