| Welcome to the SAXSIM web site! |

We are happy that the 10-year history of the DENC and later PTC Simulation Users’ Meeting will be continued under the
roof of the Saxon Simulation Meeting, launched 2009 by Prof. Maik Berger at the Chemnitz University of Technology.
The principal goal of all meetings was to provide useful information about simulation products, especially those from
PTC, and to give users suggestions for their own work.
In the PTC meetings organized by Roland Jakel, Ph.-D., the key aspect was structural simulation with the Finite Element
Program Pro/MECHANICA, whereas the SAXSIM was more focused on multi body simulation problems. For this, the PTC tools
Pro/ENGINEER and Mathcad and also BMX, MDX, MDO or DAO were used. You could experience exciting presentations from
highly qualified experts on both event series.
Furthermore, in the SAXSIM the idea of a new and self-contained Mathcad-workshop was
realized. Students participated actively in the users’ meeting by a student competition. We will keep this in the future.
Very important for us is the design of our web site. We will keep it well-arranged, always up to date and with lots of
information like product news or literature recommendations. Furthermore, our
home page offers an extensive user presentation archive – not only containing those from the SAXSIM,
but also those from the former DENC and PTC Simulation Users’ Meetings. You can download
presentations for your own work or knowledge transfer only here with ensured copy right and free of charge.
Your commitment is very important for our meeting. If you would like to provide helpful
user’s knowledge or are interested in a discussion forum, we would be happy to welcome you in a future meeting not only
as visitor, but also as presenter.
Have a good time browsing the subsequent pages! The organizers

The next Saxon Simulation Meeting takes place at the Chemnitz University of Technology from 16th to 17th April 2012.
In order to present an appealing range of topics, we are going to publish a "Call for Paper" in autumn 2011 and we hope
there will be interesting presentation offers. Additionally, enthusiastic students can hand in a Simulation project in the
context of the 4th CAD/CAE student competition until the 3rd February 2012. Hence, the project can be evaluated by a
jury afterwards..
