19th Chemnitz FEM Symposium 2006


Announcement

Date: September 25th-27th (Mon-Wed), 2006
Scientific topics: The symposium is devoted to all aspects of finite elements and wavelet methods in partial differential equations. The topics include (but are not limited to)
  • adaptive methods,
  • parallel implementation,
  • high order methods.
This year we particularly encourage talks on
  • finite element methods for Maxwell equations
  • finite elements for advanced problems in solid mechanics
  • [non-symmetric] saddle point problems
  • inverse problems for PDEs

Ralf Hiptmair (Zürich)
Andy Wathen (Oxford)
Contributions: Duration: 15 or 25 minutes (plus discussion)
Overhead projector or beamer can be used.
We will provide the laptop for the beamer.

  • August 1st, 2006: Registration via WWW for participants who wish to give a talk.
  • August 31st, 2006: Submission of Abstracts via WWW
  • August 24th, 2006: Registration via WWW for participants without talk.
  • August 2006: book your accommodation. Of course you can do this earlier. For details on a recommended hotel with special conditions for the conference see below.
  • The Collection of Abstracts will be made available on the Web early in September. Furthermore a booklet will be handed out at the beginning of the symposium.
