As Germany is not a country which is rich in raw materials, knowledge and know-how rank among its most important resources. For that reason Germany puts great emphasis on education, research and development. This esteem is not only reflected by a high-performing and diverse research landscape but also by a great number and variety of research funding programs deriving from numerous funding sources.
If Germany wants to maintain and even enhance its scientific and economic competitiveness, it needs to raise constantly the number of highly-qualified manpower which is increasingly recruited also from abroad. Chemnitz University of Technology strives to make its own contribution to the attraction of excellent international doctoral students and scientists by offering outstanding framework conditions for teaching, research and development.
