Today, not only the execution of software but also the development of software includes complex processes, which require a huge amount of ressources, i.e., computing time and memory consumption. Examples of development processes are the execution of test routines, where more then thousand trials are quickly performed for a single component, or the backup, administration and version control of case-objects, which have to be available at a central point for customers. Since standard hardware is getting more and more affordable, small and mid-size software manufacturers are capable to purchase their own cluster systems. Thus, it is important to examine the potentialities of incorporating parallel computer systems as a part of the software engineering process. The aim is to build up a model to use parallel software in the area of software development, as well as the realization of software tools that support the application of the model.
