Parallel Atmosphere Simulation

This project investigates meteorological relevant simulation programs (GESIMA, MUSCAT) for parallelism resulting from the algorithmic structure and identifies shared and different features of the algorithms.
The aim is providing a library of templates which is driven by several problem-, system-, and parallelization-specific parameters. The integration of the templates in the application software offers the user the possibility to control different modules by varying several parameters. The result is a simulation program which is adapted to the user's needs.

The development of templates requires the investigation of different programs interesting for the parallelization. This allows to include shared and different features of these programs. In order to test the templates for practical suitablility realistic cases are simulated.
