Equipment available

Thermo-mechanical measurements
  • DMA TA Instrument Q800 with humidity chamber
  • TMA TA Instrument Q400 EM with temperature modulation
  • Sorption Analyse TA Instrument Q5000 SA
TA Instruments Equipment line Master Curves
For accurate lifetime prediction materials need to be characterised as function of temperature, time and moisture. The new lab can do this with highly accurate equipment and pave the way toward coupled field analysis for combined reliability testing.   Mastercurves for different packaging materials. Note the big differences in the time-temperature behaviour.

Specification
Measurements of the thermo-mechanical properties your materials under dry / humid atmosphere on state of the art equipments:
  • CTE, Tg (-70°C to 1000°C)
  • Visco elastic properties, Relaxation and Master Curves
    • DMA Q800 (E’, E”, tan δ, Relaxation, creep, multi-frequency)
    • -150°C to 600°C
    • 0,01 – 200 Hz
    • +/- 9 N
    • 0 - 95%RH and 5 - 120°C (85%RH/85°C)
  • Coefficient of moisture expansion
  • Diffusion coefficient

Fatigue Testing
Very important are also time-dependent failure properties of materials for lifetime assessment and modeling.

High load fatigue testing can be done by the new 2 kN DMA, again under temperature and moisture loading.
