Six research profiles express the interdisciplinarity of the university:The special research and transfer fields of the German
Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) demonstrate the
excellence of research at CUT. Together with postgraduate programmes
and competence centres, they provide the foundation for numerous innovations.
Numerous interdisciplinary courses are shaped by several research fields.
For example, the Bachelor's and Master's Course "Computational Science"
comprises Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences whereas
Media Communication consists of Technology, Economics, and Journalism.
The equipment of the laboratories
is on an equally high level. The Center of Micro Technologies including
its clean rooms is an acknowledged partner
of numerous international chip producers. In the “Virtual Reality
Center Production Engineering” of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering,
constructions and layouts for manufactures are visualized three-dimensionally
in a new quality.
At CUT, the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher
Akademischer Austauschdienst -DAAD) established the first integrated
international
Master's and Postgraduate Course in "Mathematics". After
four semesters students can earn an internationally acknowledged Master's
Degree, followed by a Postgraduate Degree after six more semesters.
