METORA: METORA, a project in collaboration with BITKOM and
Core Business Development GmbH, and funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics
and Technology, develops concepts and practices of Knowledge Management for
small and media sized enterprises (SMEs). SMEs incorporate structures and processes
that are completely different from large corporations. METORA accommodates
the differences by developing appropriate software-suits, web-presences, and
services. FOKUS at TU Chemnitz contributes with the K3 Knowledge Laboratory®,
a web-database that is build on experiences from survey research among SMEs
on one hand, and many different case studies among the manifold branches on
the other. This database rests on a process-perspective of knowledge management
and aims to represent such processes of KM implementation appropriate to the
needs of SMEs.
