     Dr. Evgeny Kataev was born in Kaluga (Russia). He studied Chemistry at the Moscow State University (MSU) and graduated in 2003. He completed his PhD degree in 2006, a joint program between University of Texas at Austin, and MSU under supervision of Prof. Jonathan L. Sessler and Yuri A. Ustynyuk. In 2006/2007 he was an INTAS postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Kay Severin (EPFL, Lausanne). After working as a researcher in 2007/2008 at the A.N. Nesmeyanov Institute of Organoelement Compounds and MSU he joined the group of Prof. Burkhard König at the University of Regensburg as a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow. In fall 2011 he started his current position at the Chemnitz University of Technology. His research interests are in the field of self-assembly, molecular recognition and molecular sensors.
