The electrochemistry group ("AG Elektrochemie") welcomes everybody with an excellent education in chemistry, physics or closely related subjects to spend his/her summer internship with us or to pursue a Ph.D. (Dr.rer.nat.) in our group at our university.
Experience in experimental electrochemistry is of course welcome and helpful, but even without this know-how we will consider applications.
Students without any background in physical chemistry or closely related areas will most likely find the offered topics too demanding. We have no "PhD-programs", thus there are basically no openings into such programs. Infrequently salaried positions for researchers providing the possibility to pursue a Ph.D. are offered, for details consult here.
According to the list below there are various areas pursued in our group which might be of interest. There is also sufficient space and equipment for work.
Unfortunately this cannot be said with respect to finances. Thus we will certainly consider any reasonable possibility for obtaining the necessary funds, but the primary activity: suggesting suitable funding organizations etc. is up to the applicant. It seems to be reasonable to inquire with the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (www.daad.de) or to contact the German Embassy of your home country.
